May in Jiangxi is filled with blooming flowers and lush greenery, welcoming esteemed guests to the ancient city of Nanchang.

On the morning of May 19, the grand opening ceremony of the 21st (2024) China Animal Husbandry Expo and the 2024 China International Animal Husbandry Expo (hereinafter referred to as "the Livestock Expo") was held at the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center. Over 200,000 livestock professionals from across the country gathered in Nanchang for this industry extravaganza!

The opening ceremony was graced by Bi Meijia, former member of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the China Rural Cooperative Economy Management Society, who declared the expo open. Speeches were delivered by Li Xirong, President of the China Animal Husbandry Association; Zhao Jie, Member of the Standing Committee of the Nanchang Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Nanchang; and Bao Hongxing, Chairman of Twin Group, the special sponsor and representative of the exhibitors. Other notable attendees included Hou Shuisheng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Deng Xiangui, First-level Inspector of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Huang Xiaoyan, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Commerce; and Li Ruizhong, General Manager of Shanghai Greenland Hotel and Tourism Group. The ceremony was presided over by Sha Yusheng, Secretary General of the China Animal Husbandry Association.

This year's Livestock Expo, held from May 18 to 20, covers all segments of the domestic and international livestock industry's full industrial chain, showcasing products, information, and services. The exhibition spans 190,000 square meters with over 8,000 booths, featuring more than 1,400 companies from over 20 countries, making it the largest and most comprehensive international livestock event to date.

Livestock farming is a pillar industry of Jiangxi's agricultural and rural economy, playing a crucial role in ensuring food supply, increasing farmers' incomes, promoting rural revitalization, and advancing agricultural modernization. The theme of this year's expo, "Innovation Leads, Digital Intelligence Empowers, Building a Whole Industry Chain," aligns with the key tasks for the development of Jiangxi's livestock industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It will strongly support the transformation and upgrading of the entire livestock industry chain in Jiangxi, promoting high-quality development along the lines of "digital intelligence and large-scale clustering."
