On August 2nd, Jiangxi Province’s first large-scale summer carnival themed around parent-child art and lifestyle—the “Shenshou Paradise” Parent-Child Art Life Festival—kicked off at the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center. Organized by Jiangxi Cultural Performance Group and co-hosted by Jiangxi Song and Dance Theater and Jiangxi Cultural Performance Investment Company, the festival lasts for ten days (August 2–11), utilizing a spacious 15,000 square meters. The event brings together renowned art IPs from home and abroad, creating an artistic haven for children. The festival features five themed areas: Children’s Art Theater, Handicraft Interactive Market, Parent-Child Cuisine, Adventure Park, and Art Exhibition.
Since its opening, the festival has drawn large crowds, with nearly 10,000 visitors in attendance. A variety of exciting activities take place one after another, filling the park with a joyful atmosphere as parents and children enjoy quality time together.
During this event, the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center not only provided top-notch facilities and meticulous on-site services but also undertook the design and construction of the stage area, art exhibition area, and entrance arch, ensuring the event’s success in every aspect.
Expanding Operations for Sustainable Growth
In recent years, faced with new challenges in a changing environment, Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center has been striving to break through the traditional model of single-site rentals. By adopting a diversified business approach, the center has successfully expanded into new areas, such as co-hosting exhibitions, extending services, and operating multiple business formats. These efforts continue to empower venue operations.
Co-hosting Exhibitions: Pioneering New Paths
Self-hosted exhibitions are a practice that many convention centers across China are exploring. In 2023, the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center reinitiated its self-hosted exhibition projects by partnering with local enterprises to co-create exhibitions and collaborating with external exhibition organizers on project development.
In 2023, the center teamed up with Jiangxi Alpha Exhibition Services Co., Ltd., and Jiangxi Car Gathering Exhibition Services Co., Ltd. to co-create the “2023 Nanchang Summer Bulk Commodity Shopping Festival and Anime, Automotive, Home Appliances, and Building Materials Carnival.” Additionally, it co-founded the “2023 Fun Box Anime and Game Expo” with Nanchang Huaxia Exhibition Co., Ltd., achieving a win-win partnership. In early 2024, the center co-founded the “2024 Jiangxi Consumer Expo and New Year Shopping Festival” with Jiangxi Daily Media Group Co., Ltd., exploring a cooperative model based on shared brand benefits and mutual economic risk.
Currently, the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center’s self-hosted exhibition business is gradually expanding and making progress through continuous exploration.
Extended Services: Significant Impact
To accelerate the expansion of its business footprint, the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center is implementing a business strategy centered on venue leasing, with main venue services and self-hosted exhibitions serving as key pillars. The center is actively expanding the exhibition industry chain upstream and downstream. Presently, the main venue services have made significant contributions to the center’s annual performance.
As a key extension of the center’s business, the main venue services have vast potential for development. While continuing to excel in main venue construction, host unit services, and advertising ambiance, the center is focusing on expanding its offerings in event and conference services and custom booth construction. By leveraging its venue advantages and developing a differentiated competition strategy, the center is working to excel in standardized design projects and mid-to-high-end eco-friendly custom construction projects, as well as striving to secure business outside the region. In 2023, the team provided main venue services for nine exhibitions, constructed 381 custom booths, built standard booths for 38 exhibitions, organized 22 event meetings, and offered advertising ambiance services for 40 exhibitions, generating over 21 million yuan in revenue—a historic high.
Commercial Operations: Pioneering Innovation
Since 2023, the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center has been exploring ways to convert “idle space” into “revenue streams.” The center has introduced long-term rental projects such as go-kart tracks, inflatable castles, and sports fields in the second-floor exhibition hall; hosted over 30 children’s cultural performances in the mezzanine conference rooms; held multiple car test drives and motorcycle safety training sessions in the outdoor west square; and introduced driving schools and second-hand car markets in the rear of the venue, fully revitalizing the center’s “idle spaces.”
Additionally, during exhibition downtime, the center has actively developed non-exhibition business, introducing events such as Fujifilm camera tours, Nature Flooring customer appreciation events, Haier factory direct sales, mahjong machine exhibitions, Jiangling Motors ad shoots, art student painting competitions, and music and dance mock exams.
Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center continues to explore new commercial operation models across spatial and temporal dimensions, striving to improve venue utilization through multi-format operations.
Looking ahead, the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center will continue to adopt an enterprising spirit, actively pursue new opportunities, tap into resources, and unleash potential. The center will expand the versatility and adaptability of its exhibition venues, consistently opening new revenue streams to fuel high-quality development for the company.
